How to embed videos and visual content in your questionnaire?

You can customize and enhance your questionnaires by embedding videos and visual content directly into them. This allows you to guide clients step-by-step through the process, explain complex topics more clearly, and create a more engaging and personal experience.

Supported platforms include:

• Vimeo
• Wistia
• YouTube (must be a public video - per their terms of service it's not allowed to embed an "unlisted" video)
• Loom
• Canva

How do the clients see the embedded content?

Embedded content appears directly inside the questionnaire, allowing clients to watch or view without leaving the page. Adding a video at the beginning of your questionnaire helps set expectations and put clients at ease before they begin.

For example, a short welcome video to:

• Explain what the questionnaire will cover
• Reassure clients that they can complete it at their own pace
• Emphasize confidentiality and support

Videos can also be used within specific sections to explain more complex topics, for example within the Decisionmakers section to:

• Define what a Power of Attorney is
• Provide context before the client answers the question
• Help clients make more informed decisions

Using videos this way can reduce back-and-forth with clients and improve the quality of the information they provide.

How to embed visual content in your questionnaire sections

To add these display elements go to Settings > Customization > Open your questionnaire.

From the Questions tab, open the section where you want to add your video or visual content. Then click “Add Custom Question/Text”.

Open the Type dropdown, scroll down to Display Elements and choose the type of content you want to embed:

How to embed videos from Vimeo

1. Select the Embedded Video - Vimeo element from the dropdown list, set the Order in which the element will be added in that section, and click Save.

2. After adding the element, you must set the video ID. Click on the green button to edit the element. Paste the Video ID of the uploaded video, then click Save.

How to embed videos from Wistia

1. Select the Embedded Video - Wistia element from the dropdown list, set the Order in which the element will be added in that section, and click Save.

2. After adding the element, you must set the video ID. Click on the green button to edit the element.

   Paste the Video ID of the uploaded video, then click Save.

   

How to embed videos from Youtube

1. Select the Embedded Video - Youtube element from the dropdown list, set the Order in which the element will be added in that section, and click Save.

   

2. After adding the element, you must set the video ID. Click on the green button to edit the element.

   Paste the video ID of the uploaded video, then click Save.

   

How to embed videos from Loom

1. Select the Embedded Video - Loom element from the dropdown list, set the Order in which the element will be added in that section, and click Save.

   

2. After adding the element, you must set the video ID. Click on the green button to edit the element.

   Paste the video ID of the uploaded video, then click Save.

   

How to embed designs from Canva

1. Select the Canva Embedded Design element from the dropdown list, set the Order in which the element will be added in that section, and click Save.

   

2. After adding the element, you must set the Canva Design URL. Please note that you must use the Smart embed link from Canva in order for the design to properly be embedded. To get that link click on Share and then Embed.

   

   Then copy the Smart embed link.

   

   3. Click on the green button to edit the element and paste the Smart embed link and click Save.
