How to track changes and activity within a matter

The Feed tab allows you to track everything happening within a matter in one place. This includes changes made by attorneys or staff, updates or uploads from clients, and system events (e.g., invitations accepted, integrations synced). You can access the Feed tab from the matter details screen.

You can quickly:

  • Confirm if a client uploaded a requested document
  • See when information was added or updated
  • Track key events like invitations or integration syncs
  • Reconstruct changes if something was modified or deleted

The feed displays a timeline of activity, grouped by user and type of change. You’ll see who made the change, what was updated, when it happened, and additional details (expandable where available).

It shows changes within a single matter, so to check activity across multiple matters, you will still need to open each matter individually.

How to filter activity in the feed tab

You can use the filters at the top of the feed to narrow down the activity and quickly find what you’re looking for. This is especially helpful when a matter has a lot of updates.

Start by using the User Type filter to control who the activity is coming from. You can view all activity, limit it to only client actions, or focus on updates made by your firm’s staff.

Next, the Record Type filter allows you to focus on specific types of information within the matter, such as answers, assets, contacts, documents, or requested documents.

The Action Type filter lets you refine results even further by showing whether something was created, updated, or deleted.

You can also enable Only info events if you want to view high-level system activity, such as when a matter was submitted, an invitation was accepted, or a sync occurred. This provides a cleaner, simplified view of key milestones without detailed data changes.

If at any point you want to return to the full activity view, simply click Reset Filters.

Does the activity feed send email notifications?

No, the activity feed does not send email notifications for changes. Because of the volume of activity, sending emails for every update would quickly become overwhelming and less useful. Instead, the feed provides a centralized place to review changes when needed.
