Can I change the marital status in a matter?
You are able to change the marital status at any time. This can be done by both the client and the firm staff from the questionnaire. Firm staff users can also do this directly from the Matter Details screen.
Changing the marital status from the Matter Details Screen:
- Go the Matters Details screen of the matter. Then click on the edit button in the marital status field.
- Select the marital status you want to change it to.
- When selecting a marital status other than Single, you must select a contact or add a new contact as the Spouse. A date will also be required (except for Life Partner). After selecting a contact and adding a date click Review Changes.
- After reviewing and confirming the information, click Proceed.
Changing the marital status from the questionnaire:
Please note that your client also has access to change the status from the questionnaire. From the About You section, they can click on the Adjust button in the marital status question.
This will take them to the same process the firm staff users go through when doing it from the matter details screen.
